Hi there!

My name is Emmaline Swinger, but I go by Emma most of the time. I'm 31, mama to 3 boys and a bonus daughter. I'm originally from California but moved to Milledgeville, Ga in high school. I recently married my high school sweetheart this year and my now husband, Will, accompanies me as an assistant on many of my sessions and weddings. 

I fell in love with photography at a very young age. I grew up in a family that made a tradition out of pulling out our boxes upon boxes of family photos on every holiday, celebration or even just a rainy day, so I like to think that's what got me hooked. As an adult, I have my own box of photos that I very often pull off the shelf and sift through to remember how little my babies were or laugh at my (absolutely terrible) school photos. My dad is also a distinguished and now retired cinematographer, so I spent a lot of my childhood listening to his stories of movie making, wandering various television and movie sets and obsessing over the incredible pictures the set photographers took of him working. My parents saw how interested I was in photography as a young girl and gifted me my mom's film camera (which I still have), and I spent the next few years teaching myself how to use it. There was no stopping me from that point on.

I consider myself a lifestyle photographer, mostly because I strive to capture people as they are. I don't generally go through a list of "poses" and instead, I might ask you to run in circles with your kids pretending to be an airplane or tickle each other until you can't help but laugh. Just go with it, I promise you won't regret it! I want every couple and family I work with to feel like we're just "hanging out" and as though they've just made a new buddy in me by the end of our time together. I definitely strive to treat every single person who books with me as a close and personal friend rather than just a client. I'm a big people pleaser, I know that your time is valuable, so I want you to have fun and LOVE every single image I produce!
